Puttman Locomotive Works is releasing a N Scale EMD MKI GP40WH-2 Locomotive Shell.
Built by Morrison Knudson Industries in the 1990s, these unique locomotives were a mix of salvaged parts from scrapped locomotives. Featuring the body of a GP40, radiator sections from SD45s, and a cab from an F45, these were the motive power of choice for the Maryland Area Rail Commuter (MARC) until retirement. In later years these units could be found on the MBTA in Boston. Currently, CSX operates one as power for their track geometry train, CSX 9969.
